What We Know
Rebecca Yarros' Fourth Wing was one of the defining book phenomena of the last few years — a BookTok sensation that crossed over into mainstream bestseller territory with a ferocity that surprised even its publisher. The novel spent weeks at the top of the New York Times list and spawned two sequels, with more planned. Now, after years in development, Prime Video has officially ordered the series adaptation — announced by executive producer Michael B. Jordan himself at Amazon's Upfront presentation at the Beacon Theatre in New York. Meredith Averill, who co-created Netflix's Locke & Key, comes on as showrunner, with Lisa Joy — co-creator of HBO's Westworld — directing the pilot episode. Yarros herself is executive producing and has spoken enthusiastically about the creative team. No cast has been announced yet, and no premiere date has been set, but with this team and this source material, Fourth Wing is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated series orders in recent memory.
